Premarital Counseling – 5 Tips

Young adults who are anticipating getting married are not stupid. They have seen the previous generation go through divorce after divorce and so they know firsthand of the disastrous effects divorce has on children, unspoken of or not. Far too many of you who anticipate marriages are only armed with the commitment that what happened to your parents will not happen to you. That's fine; but it's very similar to the commitment we adults had about parenting. We knew we wouldn't raise you the way we were raised, but we didn't look closely enough at marriage itself.

This evolutionary process (it is an evolutionary process, isn't it?) definitely works to some extent but it is rather unscientific. This method relies only on trial and error, learning from your mistakes and not repeating them. What is really necessary is a system of marriage that is laid out in front of you before you get married. Then you don't have to make the same mistakes that everyone has made in the past. You can start with fact-based information about how to behave, how to communicate correctly and how not to behave. The manual for marriage now exists, but it isn't my goal to advertise the work that I have done as much as it is to remind you that you're not getting into something that just happens naturally. Because of our culture and the power of our environment to influence us, having a happy marriage doesn't just happen. Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not trying to say that marriage requires tremendous work; it doesn't. But it does require a conscious decision to do what is correct.

The dynamics of a marriage are far different from any other social or other kind of relationship dynamics. There are certain rules that need to be followed. If you don't know the laws of marriage, no matter how great your desire to do the right thing is, you are going to make mistakes out of sheer ignorance. Ignorance is not a bad thing. It is what it is, unless you already knew what not to do. In that case you are responsible for your ignorance. Do you see my point? If you have a manual but choose not to read it, and then stumble through a process thinking you will figure it out as you go along, you are underestimating the importance of marriage.

Many people go to their religious leaders for premarital coaching. I am very much in favor of this because every religion offers guidelines of life that are very relevant. I must also state, from my own experience with couples who were suffering from painful marriages, that those guidelines are not enough. Other people go to psychologists for premarital coaching. I am sad to say I discourage this practice. It seems their systems focus on the negative in the name of exposing the dangers and pitfalls. Unfortunately they don't discuss adequately with depth the benefits of a sacred relationship, which marriage is. It is my ongoing contention that people must recognize the three aspects of their being (physical, psychological and spiritual). Western psychology completely ignores the spiritual aspect of humanity; a three legged stool will not stand, nor can mankind understand its true nature when it ignores its spiritual aspect. Ironically, the spiritual aspect of man is the essential aspect and it must be addressed and understood in order to get the full benefit of marriage. Please note I am not a religionist. I suppose all religions are good and none are perfect. Spirituality is part and parcel of all religions and even exists when people don't practice religion.

# 1) Know the person you're going to marry so character traits that might offend you are not revealed six months or six years down the road.

# 2) Appreciate them for who they are. Have no desire to change them.

# 3) Don't pretend they don't have flaws. But don't discuss their flaws with them.

4) Speak at length about raising children. Talk about how you want to raise them, include your goals and how you hope to achieve them. Talk about methods of discipline. Discuss what you will do with your children, and how much time each of you will spend with them. 5) Talk about your future intimacy. Talk about what lovemaking means to you but never correct each other. Tell your partner how you think your sex life might change after you are married. Be open about what your expectations are but don't ask for a commitment. Know for certain that a person does what they want to do but primarily what they are used to doing, so don't expect change.

The above five tips are just the tip of the iceberg. A truly happy marriage comes from unselfish and mature behavior. Learn what it takes and you will have the happiest marriage on earth. That is my prayer for you. Don't forget to tell your significant other, "I love you."

Divorce - Court Room Tips

When it comes to the Court Room, you will find this to be a pretty place. Once the divorce proceedings begin, the outcome of your divorce is in the hands of a total stranger - the Judge. You no longer have control. All decisions will now be made by a stranger. Of course this stranger may be having a bad day, not feeling well, or even have had a major fight with their spouse the night before. I know it's scary and may even seem unfair, but this is the real world and it happens all the time. This judge is now in control of the outcome of your trial.

Here are a few tips to help prepare you for the Court Room experience:

1. First, I strongly recommend you try to settle as many issues as possible before entering the Court Room. This means the judge won't be in control of everything.

2. Do not expect the Judge will always make decisions in your favor. There are three directions the judge can go when making a decision: Your way, your spouse's way, or the Judge's way. As you can see, two out three are not in your favor.

3. Discuss how you should act, and when to speak with you attorney before going into the courtroom. Do not speak unless asked to do so by the Judge.

4. When addressing the Judge with respect by addressing him/her as "Your Honor."

5. Never speak to or make comments to your spouse when you are before the Judge.

6. Leave all hostile and negative emotions at the door. Do not make faces or gestures when the judge or your spouse's attorney is speaking. Judges see this and do not appreciate it.

7. Dress for success. Your attorney will have a certain strategy on how he/she wants you to be portrayed. Therefore, consult your attorney on how he/she wants you to dress.

8. Take notes. Don't leave anything to chance. Your attorney will be very busy during the process and cannot remember or write everything down.

9. Be prepared and stay organized. Bring as much information, documentation and any pertinent documents that you possibly can with you. It is better to have too much ammunition than not enough.

10. Be prepared to be in the court house for some time. You will sometimes wait for hours before your case is called.

Marriage Counseling--Seven Tips to Live Longer

by: Barbara Bartlein

We have all heard the stories; the executive retires in Spring and dies before the first Winter snowfall. While some may conclude that the former exec just couldn’t adjust to retirement, it is more likely that they burned themselves out working. That is, years of shortchanging their own personal well-being finally caught up with them.

It is so easy to get trapped on the treadmill of demanding schedules and too many priorities using caffeinated energy to get things done. It is often self-care that gets put on the shelf first because there just isn’t time to exercise and eat right. Yet, there is increasing research that even small lifestyle changes can be a major factor in a long healthy life.

Some suggestions:

• Keep a long fuse. Scientists use to believe that “Type A’s,” those people driven by ambition, were most at risk for heart attacks. But recent research demonstrates that it is not striving for goals that have people dropping like flies; it is being hostile, angry and cynical. A hostile disposition is also dangerous once cardiovascular disease sets in. Dr. Murray Mittleman, a cardiovascular epidemiologist at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, interviewed 1623 men and women who had heart attacks. He found that the risk of having an attack was twice as great in those that were angry in the two hours before the incident.

• Lighten up. There is increasing evidence linking depression to heart disease. Johns Hopkins researchers interviewed 1551 people in the early 1980’s who were free of heart disease. They followed up fourteen years later and found that those who reported a history of a major depression were four times as likely to have a heart attack as those not depressed.

• Get off the couch. Not only for weight control, better circulation, reduced risk of diabetes, but exercise actually works as an anti-depressant. In a recent study at Duke University, 60 % of clinically depressed people who took a brisk 30-minute walk at least three times per week were no longer depressed after 16 weeks. Increasingly psychiatrists are finding that exercise can often work as well as anti-depressants for the mildly depressed individual.

• Flatten the middle. It’s been more than 50 years since French scientist Jean Vague noted that people with a lot of upper-body fat (those that look like apples, rather than pears), often developed heart disease, diabetes and other ailments. Since the introduction of CT and MRI scans, Drs. have discovered that a visceral fat, located within the abdomen was strongly linked to these diseases. The good news is that this type of fat also burns off the fastest. This is why even a small reduction in weight can reverse the deadly factors of heart disease.

• Limit bad habits. Heavy drinking, smoking, overeating, and overcaffeinating are major factors in the development of heart disease and other problems. It has been found that both drinking and smoking tend to increase the abdominal fat that puts folks at risk for heart disease. Excessive caffeine increased blood pressure to dangerous levels for people experiencing job stress.

• Fire up your metabolism. New research shows that a healthy metabolic profile counts far more than cardiovascular fitness or weight alone. In a Japanese study, a group of men were put on a low-intensity exercise program for one year. Although they did not lose weight, nor improve their cardiovascular fitness, their metabolic health improved dramatically (measured by how well the body utilizes insulin). States Glenn A. Glaesser of the University of Virginia, “Metabolic fitness is one of the best safeguards against heart disease, stroke and diabetes.”

• Approach sleep like Goldilocks—Just right. In a recent study of 72,000 nurses published in the January Archives of Internal Medicine, researchers found that getting too little sleep—or too much—may raise the risk of developing heart disease. Women who averaged five hours or less of sleep a night were 39% more likely to develop heart disease than those that got eight hours. And nine or more hours of shuteye was associated with a 37% higher risk of heart disease.

Your best investment for the future is in your health today.

Tips for Women as They Adjust to Married Life

There are basically two types of men out there. Men who like to watch sports, and men who don’t. I consider myself lucky to have met and married a man who falls into the latter category. But that doesn’t mean that our lives together are always pure wedded bliss. It takes a lot of work, especially if you have been out in the single world for a long time.

I’m sure you single ladies out there know what I am talking about. It’s tough to actually have to live with someone when you previously had the place to yourself. And what about the name change, the finances, and all the other administrative stuff that makes marriage so unsexy?? Let’s explore what you can do to handle the transition to married life with ease.

BEFORE THE WEDDING EVEN TAKES PLACE

It is ever so important these days to have a prenuptial agreement. If he really loves you, your betrothed will understand the need for one. After all, you both worked hard for the money you earned and the assets you acquired before you were married, so why not protect them? Believe me, it’s worth a simple piece of paper now to avoid a lot of headache later. There are many highly qualified lawyers out there who can draft the agreement for a nominal fee, so put yourself at ease and sign a prenup.

AFTER THE WEDDING - NOW WHAT?

I skipped over the actual wedding, since everyone has varying tastes when it comes to wedding ceremonies and receptions, and that is not really the focus of this article anyway. I want to get right to the part where he carries you over the threshold of your new home, and you are officially husband and wife. As you start your new life together, try to keep these things in mind:

1. Take some time to enjoy being married. After all, you married this man for a reason. You should just bask in the glow of your happiness for a while.

2. Make a list of the administrative tasks that need to be handled – like the name change, joint insurance policies, etc. and give yourself a flexible target date to complete them. This way you won’t feel rushed and overwhelmed, and you will most likely complete everything ahead of schedule.

3. Decide early on which household chores you want to do, and ask your husband which he would like to do. It may seem silly, but this will help you avoid an argument later about who should have taken out the trash.

4. Figure out both your schedules – what time you go to work, when you like to work out, when you like to eat dinner, etc. It’s important to know what your day looks like, so that you can maximize your quality time together.

5. Communicate, commit, and cooperate. Don’t forget that you are a team now, and you must work together in order to keep your union strong and harmonious.

If you follow the first and last steps in the list, everything in between will fall into place. Yes, it’s tough to adjust to being a twosome when you’ve been on your own for so long. And yes, the minutiae of everyday life can sometimes bog you down. But if you can deal with it up front, organize it, and commit to working on it together, then you will succeed.

Online Dating Tips: 3 Ways to Lower Your Risk Factor

While many businesses around the globe are experiencing some tough economic times, there seems to be at least one industry that is flourishing. In the United States last year over 500 million dollars was spent in on line dating. That number is expected to grow like wildfire in a few more years as is the number of internet dating sites which are becoming more and more niche specific.

That in most cases is the future of internet dating. Smaller services will be just as prosperous as some of the current online mega companies without feeling the need or pressure of having to compete against these places. What of course will be beneficial to many of these businesses large or small is the advancement in technology. Internet dating is bound to get more interactive. In all likelihood it will grow from the instant chats and webcams to pert near feeling like your cyber date is sitting in the same room with you.

But with explosive growth, it becomes more and more crucial to protect yourself in the cyber dating world. Not just fly by night companies that spring up, guarantee results and then disappear with your money but also those individuals who are not interested in anything except what they can get regardless of how it impacts anyone else.

Therefore exercise proper precaution when it comes to:

1. Choosing Your Online Dating Service

Should go without saying right? Except that many of us get caught up in the companies dazzling sales pitch without doing any real homework. The best way to check out an internet dating service is to ask someone who has used it. Hopefully that person is someone you know and trust. If you cannot find anyone in your immediate circle, than go to some of the forums and see what's cooking. People have no reservations about sharing their on line dating experience whether good, bad or indifferent. See if anyone is talking about a site you would like to join or get in and start asking questions.

2. Rules and Regulations

All on line dating sites have them (or should) but so few of us actually read them. The print may look boring and too small but having a clear understanding of what the company is offering can save you misunderstandings and headaches. You could wind up having a bad experience with an on line dating service because you believed something that was not spelled out in the fine print. Whatever dating site you are interested in joining take the extra steps to see EXACTLY what they are offering and the parameters that go with it.

3. Avoid Straying

You have done your homework and signed on to a dating site. You wind up meeting someone and the two of you really start having some great chats. Now suddenly the other person has a "wonderful" idea. Why not drop the dating service contact system and start communicating more directly using your primary email address? Not a good idea. This is one of the many ways scammers work. The whole point is to move you to a place where their activities cannot really be monitored. Then they lay it on thick when it comes to playing with your emotions as a way to manipulate you. Stay within the dating services structure and report anything suspicious.

Not only is on line dating becoming mainstream but it is also moving into territory that is more interactive and niche specific. There are a lot of opportunities to take advantage of but the more on line dating grows the more important it is to take action and ensure your dating experience becomes less risky.

Finding Dating Online Tips

Dating online can be an exhilarating experience, and can be extremely rewarding in the end. This is a unique environment where you can find people who are interested in the same things you are. Sometimes in every day life, this can be difficult because we often randomly meet single people who may or may not be compatible with us romantically. But you can't enter the online dating world with unabashed trust. People can pretend to be someone else more easily than in any other aspect of their lives. Tread cautiously when pursuing dates online, and adhere to dating online tips to help you navigate these sometimes dangerous but often rewarding waters.

Dating online tips can include any number of topics from how to present your profile online to maximize you success rate, to how to protect your personal information, to how to act on a date, and how to be safe when physically meeting a person you've only talked to online. Sometimes you can get too excited about discovering someone that you can talk easily to on the internet, but this doesn't mean that you can entirely trust this person, and even if they are completely trustworthy, you might not be able to hit things off so smoothly in read person.

You can find helpful information through dating online tips about what to do in the sticky situations that can happen in the online dating scene. One of the best tips when you're first embarking on the online dating world, is to be honest about yourself without revealing sensitive information. If you strive to come off as someone more interesting, more important, or more attractive than you really are, this will surely burn you in the end. The last thing you want to do is become one of those people that dating online tips tell people to look out for. Starting off by misrepresenting yourself is the worst thing you can do, and guarantees not being successful.

Also, don't give out too much information about yourself as a desperate attempt to get noticed. If you make a lot of money in real life, you don't often wear a sandwich board that announces "Hey muggers, my pockets are full of cash, come and get me!" Dating online tips tell you to be discreet about your financial situation because there are pirnahas out there ready to get their hands on your financial information to exploit it, steal your identity, and a host of other nightmare activities.

If you end up deciding to meet someone you've met online, agree to meet in a somewhat crowded public place, so the person won't know your address and can't stalk you or do other malicious things. You are still dealing with a stranger who may or may not be who they say they are. Dating online tips first and foremost put safety first. If you are really impressed with or attracted to someone, it can be very easy to be taken advantage of. Your defenses are down when you really like someone, you want them to be everything you imagine them to be. When participating in online dating, pay attention to dating online tips, and always be alert.

Online Dating Tips for Men and Women: Dating Online Today

Online dating is one of the the safest and most convenient ways to meet single men or women. But because of the stigma that online chat rooms sometimes suffer from, singles, especially single women, can still feel apprehensive about joining an online dating site.

The following are some basic, common sense safety tips to keep in mind when dating online. Follow these tips, and you should be perfectly fine and be able to enjoy all the benefits online dating has to offer.

Take the following safety precautions, and you'll make absolutely sure that you are not doing anything that could be dangerous.

Do not, under any circumstance reveal any personally identifiable information in your online dating profile, in your personal ads, or in your private e-mails to singles.

Such information includes your real name, specifics about where you live ("I live in London" is ok, though) or any other info that could be used maliciously or simply without your consent.

Use only the communications tools provided by your dating service. They now offer private e-mail, chat, and even instant messaging. You should not invite singles to e-mail you at your regular address, at least until you get to know them better. Use your judgement here.

When you e-mail singles in private, you may want to consider using an anonymous e-mail account at a free site such as Hotmail or Yahoo when you begin getting to know new people. Take your time to establish communication and move at your own pace.

Be careful with your signatures. Many of us use multiple signature lines for our personal and business e-mail correspondence that include our phone numbers and addresses. Obviously you'll want to leave this information out when first contacting any singles you meet through the personals.

Your best option might be opening an entirely new free e-mail account, to use just for your communications with singles you meet online.

Remember, you're in control. No one should ever pressure you into revealing anything about yourself that you want to keep private. Anyone who does is not respecting your boundaries, and is probably not worth contacting further.

10 Online Dating Safety Tips You Should Never Forget

It seems everyone is into online dating today. Years back it was taboo to say you had met that special someone over the Internet as today it's become mainstream. Popular Internet dating sites like www.TheFitnessPersonals.com are making meeting that special someone increasingly easier. With this new medium for induction taking off with it comes some common sense and not so common sense rules to go by.

Hear are my top 10:

1. Only meet your date when you are 100% ready. You got to feel comfortable first. Make sure your 'gut' agrees with you head.

2. Keep it public. First date should be in a public place like a coffee shop or restaurant.

3. Meet at the date location – meaning DO NOT meet at your dates place of residence or yours. If the date goes really well you'll then have plenty of opportunity in the future to go there but not now.

4. Keep the date to a limit. Say 1 hour. That give you both plenty of time to get an idea if a connection exists plus it keeps the pressure off if one person can't wait for the date to be over. Remember – if it goes well then the next date can always be longer.

5. Make a friend aware. Let a friend know that you are going on a date with a new person and let that friend know where you are going to be. Agree to call your friend after the date to let him/her know everything is ok.

6. Make sure to have your cell phone with you and fully charged.

7. Avoid alcohol.

8. Do not leave your drink or food unattended. You don't know this person so don't trust too much from the beginning.

9 . Remember your gut. If it tell you things are off be ready to listen to it and simply end the date and leave.

10. Make sure when the date is over that you are not being followed so you get home safely.

Relationships take time to build and trust is something that shouldn't be given away in a matter of minutes, hours, or even days. Remember – follow your gut and you will know when it's right to take your relationship to the next level.

Tips For Men on How to Improve a Marriage

One of the worst things anyone can do is to take their wife for granted.

In the beginning there was love

When we begin a new relationship, it's so exciting. The buzz, the expectation, the passion...it's intoxicating. We want to impress our prospective partners so we shower them with gifts, buy flowers, go for romantic meals, visit romantic places, all things designed to show your lady how much you love and want her, and hoping to convince her that you're the man for her.

We all do it. It's natural. And yet, many of us let this slip after a few years of marriage. But, I hear you say, we can't afford that lifestyle any more. We want to raise a family, and we must economize. Piffle.

More ways of skinning a cat

So, you need to economize? This is understandable, and almost noble, especially if you want to start a family. But it doesn't mean that you have to stop showing your love for her. Don't think that just because she married you, that you can stop wooing her. Women always need to be shown they are loved, desired and wanted.

Instead of taking her out for expensive restaurant meals, prepare the occasional romantic meal at home. It's so much cheaper than eating out, but more than that, it shows your partner you care, that you have taken the time and trouble to cook for her, and to prepare that private intimate experience to share.

Alternatively you can take her out for a picnic. This has all attraction of preparing a meal at home, but also adds the extra dimension of romantic surroundings if you choose them with thought.

Don't stop bringing her gifts. They don't have to be expensive. A flower picked on the way home, a bottle of wine you can share together...just small things, but things that keep the element of surprise there, that show you still care.

Personal grooming

You should always strive to look your best. There is nothing worse to a woman, than if her once handsome, smart man should turn into a scruffy, dirty slob. By keeping up your appearance, you are not only obviously looking good, but you are keeping her attraction to you alive, and you are honoring her by looking good for her.

That's what she does for you...looks good... for you! It's not for some other Tom, Dick, or Harry, it's for you, and one of the simplest and most effective gestures you can do that will go a long way, is to let her know that you recognize it...often.

The physical manifestation of love

Making love is of course the ultimate show of your love for your partner. Make love often. Not only does it cost nothing (practical but true), it shows your wife that you still care for her. Be a little adventurous (that doesn't mean swinging from the chandelier) be a little naughty...flirting is fun. Above all be gentle and caring.

The key

Showing you still care is the absolute key. Tell her you love her regularly. Not too often. You don't want to spoil the girl, but say it unexpectedly. It's so much more effective.

Always make that extra time for her. No matter what other priorities you may think you have at the time, she is more important to you than anything else in the world. You can always make the time if you bear this thought in mind.

Be kind and considerate. It doesn't mean you have to be effeminate. Women love strong men who, whilst being masculine, can also show them kindness and consideration.

Talk

As simple as it may seem, communication is such an important factor in any marriage. Through life's journey together, you will meet problems. But, if you can meet these problems together, head on, discuss them, and agree the way forward, your marriage will remain strong.

Wedding Cost Tips

Every wedding is as unique as the couple getting married. What may appear as traditional to one person may be totally new to another. Shortly after the engagement has been announced, the couple should discuss with both sides of the family about the sharing of wedding costs.

Traditionally, the family of the groom has paid for the rehearsal dinner. However, this should not be assumed and should be included in the discussion about sharing the costs of the wedding.

Often the marriage finances set nervousness in the mind of the people. Make a list of various fixed or variable costs.

Fixed costs include expenses which have to be incurred at any cost irrespective to the number of guests.

Variable guests can have more impact and they can be controlled flexibly.

A wedding generally covers many ceremonies, some may be optional or some may be compulsory.

A wedding is an occasion which demands various things like costumes for the couple, refreshments, decorations or the meals.

A small optional get together between the two families can be organized and planning for the cost allocation can be done.

A simple engagement party can save may bucks. The key to this question lies with the bride and groom. Only close friends, family members and close relatives can be invited. It is not a gift-giving occasion and in fact, the purpose of the party may not be announced until the guests have arrived.

Once a couple engages, the next probable ceremony is wedding. The wedding plans are in the works to make the upcoming wedding a sure success. The bride and groom invite a lot of people to share special day to have fun and enjoy.

Generally, guests pay their own way for traveling and accommodations and send or bring wedding gifts or flowers.

The secret to the success of any wedding is good communication, listening and sharing ideas. Friends and relatives can also help the bride and groom. They can support them throughout their wedding.

Instead of going for the lavish decors, adore the simple ones.

While deciding about the marriage costs, you can work with some smartness and logic.

You can cut your costs and show how smart and talented you are?

Since it is your own wedding party, you won't be able to DJ your reception since you will be busy cutting the cake, dancing with your parents and being in every picture. You can take the services of your best buddies and make them perform a few things like handling guest, acting as bar tenders or playing DJ for your party. This will save lot of money and your pals will be pleased by the gesture.

But, there are plenty of before the wedding things you can do your self. Consider making your own veil, arranging flowers since the cost is in the labor and not the blooms themselves. You can write out invitations and design and print them using your computer.

If you are looking for a creative, unique and original invitation with which to impress your guest and set the perfect tone for your wedding or party, then you can send memorable invitations that is handcrafted and completely unique to you and your event.

Enjoy the wedding and the memories you will have to share.

Three Great Marriage Tips

My husband and I have been married for twelve years. In that time, we’ve faced many hardships: deaths in the family, financial difficulties, having a child, and starting our own business. We used to just stumble through, hoping that because we loved each other, we’d be able to have a wonderful marriage.

But we found that there is a great deal to learn about having a powerful, rewarding marriage. So, we began learning from people who were masters at it.

From our studies, we’ve implemented great tools in our relationship that have helped us to easily build a great marriage.

Great Marriage Tip #1: Don’t Ever Talk Negatively About a Spouse To Anyone, Especially a Family Member – Assuming that your spouse is not abusing you, or doing anything else that is harmful, resist the temptation to speak ill of him or her. As spouses, you will forgive each other. Friends and family will not. Then, they’ll treat your spouse poorly and they’ll take sides, even when there are no sides to take.

This makes family gathering and activities with friends strained. If you need to speak with someone, talk to a therapist whom you trust.

Note: This tip includes trying to work out for a good solution with a friend. These conversations may start out innocently enough, but they slip into complaining very easily. If you talk to anyone, talk to your spouse. It may be rough going at first, but eventually, you’ll start to communicate.

Great Marriage Tip #2: Treat One Another With Respect – This seems obvious, but most of us don’t do it. We complain to our spouse and we feel entitled to take out our frustration on him or her. This compounds any problems that we had before, by creating more animosity between spouses instead of building a powerful team. When we treat each other poorly, we not only act in a way that is beneath us, but we also bring out the worst in our spouse.

A good rule is to act dignified, no matter the situation. This is an incredible thing to practice, taking presence of mind and discipline. But it can elevate our lives in unforeseen ways. The most important person with which to practice this is our spouse. When we do that, we build an invincible team, able to handle difficult situations with grace and ease.

Great Marriage Tip #3: Take On Your Own Life – This seems more about an individual than a marriage, but it helps marriages out a great deal. When we are committed and in action on those things that are important to us, a job, managing the house, being a great parent, etc., trivial things lose their significance. We get in fewer arguments. We just don’t have the time to argue or nitpick. Also, a huge reason for having arguments is to distract ourselves from our other troubles. When we have fewer troubles, we start fewer arguments.

Wedding Planning Tips and Ideas

Here is a list of 5 wedding planning tips that happen to get overlooked in the hustle and bustle of wedding arrangements. While wedding planning is important, sticking to the plans are by far of more importance. After all, what good is having a plan if you're not going to follow through with it?

The following 5 tips are intended to guide you through your wedding planning as smoothly as possible:

1. DON'T GO OVER BUDGET! We've seen it happen time and time again. Newly wed couples thing they have everything figured out to the penny. But when the wedding is over they're left with unpaid bills and unexpected expenses. The solution? Don't go over budget! Plan everything for your wedding in advance: the cost of the caterer, DJ, photographer, and any other vendors you intend to hire. A word of advice: Don't invite your cousin's sister's husband's brother if you can not afford to feed him and his family. Start with immediate family and close friends-continue from there. It's really rude (and embarrassing) to dis-invite someone at the last minute (because you discovered you can't afford it!).

2. ORDER WEDDING ATTIRE EARLY Picture it: The Groom's Best Man is wearing a tuxedo that's three times too large for his body. The Bride's Maid's dress is so tight , she can barely breathe! These are horrific scenarios that actually do happen and need last minute resolutions. Don't put yourself through this chaos. Get everyone fitted for their dresses and tuxedos as early as 6-8 months in advance. Ladies-don't forget wedding accessories!

3. BOOK ACCOMODATIONS EARLY In some tourist frequented cities, guest accommodations need to be set up to a year in advance! Call resorts/hotels and book a set amount of rooms for your guests on a specific date. Be certain to have enough rooms for all of your out-of-town guests. Shop around for several accommodations, as your guests may be on a budget too! Especially if they just paid to travel to your location.

4. GET A MARRIAGE LICENSE FROM YOUR OWN COUNTRY If you've decided to have a destination wedding-don't arrive at that destination without a marriage license. Most states have a 30-60 day turn-around rate with marriage licenses. It's worth the wait. Why, you ask? Different countries have different marriage customs and requirements. Nevertheless, you should bring your new marriage license with you wherever you are going to marry. If you are re-marrying, bring your divorce papers as well.

5. BEAUTIFICATION CAN GET UGLY Bad tans, allergic reactions to hair dye or other chemicals can be a nightmare. Don't until the last minute to get a pre-wedding ‘make-over.' Facials and waxing can also leave unwanted blotches, burns, and breakouts for those wedding photographs! Make all beautician appointments a week or two in advance. Part of good wedding planning is being the ‘early bird' make sure everything is in place nice and early inthe planning stages.

Tips to Save Your Marriage

Marriage is an institution in which interpersonal relationships are acknowledged by the state or by religious authority. It is often viewed as a contract.

People marry for many reasons, but usually one or more of the following: legal, social, and economic stability; the formation of a family unit; procreation and the education and nurturing of children; legitimizing sexual relations; public declaration of love; or to obtain citizenship

It's truly sad to hear of marriages in trouble. No body want trouble, but trouble does happen. You may ask your self “Can I save my marriage?” My answer is yes, why? Because when you ask yourself “Can I save my marriage?” means you do want to save your marriage. Because if don't or never think of that question, there is no way you can save your marriage, but how? So I will give you tips on how to save your marriage. These tips you and your spouse can apply today to start the healing process for your relationship and marriage.

1. More communication

Communication is important in our live, so it same to marriage. If you fail to communicate with your partner, it's about time your marriage will over. The most common cause to marriage breakdown is fail to communicate or miscommunication between spouses. When problems arise, people stop talking to each other. Simply put, a marriage cannot be saved if the couple can't figure things out together. When a new problem appears, a married couple needs to talk more, not less.

2. Compromise

Compromise means you allow your love and respect for one another to have a higher priority than the matter at hand. Be the first to compromise and before you know it, you are half-way to save your marriage.

3. Make effort to show more love and affection

Many marriages break down simply because the individuals involved feel that they are not being loved or cared for. Regardless of the issue, couples must remember that feeling loved is important. This is almost a deliberate separation of the issue or problem from the love they have for one another.

4. Forgiveness

Forgiveness is important in relationship including marriage. Try to forgive and forget. Everybody make mistake. Give changes to your partner. Forgiveness is power full but difficult, that why it's powerful. With love, compromise and communication, it is easier to forgive and forget.

If ever, you are asking the question "Can I save my marriage", try to apply these 4 tips into your situation. You will be pleasantly surprised at the healing and rebuilding that can be achieved in your marriage if you only give these a try.

It is very important to recognize that a marriage is a many-sided relationship that requires to be fostered in all of its ability for it to be successful.

1. The willingness to take sacrifices in marriage is a single secret to a blissful marriage. The married partners must be ready to put their spouse happiness ahead of theirs occasionally for the marriage to really work. If both partners are wholly self-seeking and never willing to make sacrifices, then this it will generate bitterness in that marriage. Sometimes the sacrifices might be immense but most regularly it is the little things stuff matter most. 2. Whilst making sacrifices is significant in a blissful relationship, it is also imperative to occasionally do stuff that are just meant for yourself. It is good to have lots of similar likes but it is also imperative to have some stuff that you like doing individually. Having separate hobbies is good because it provides you the opportunity to be away from your spouse one time in awhile and gives you an opportunity to appreciate how great you miss your partner when the two of you are apart. It also affords you the opportunity to discover stuff on your own and prevents monotony from building up in the relationship.

3. The other secret to a blissful marriage is to uphold a warm and loving relationship with your partner. Having physical bond with you partner will help you maintain blissful marriage. Open communication about marital problems and anxieties is imperative but it is also significant to communicate about your ambitions and even your everyday lives. Most of these kinds of communication between partners bring them much close together and promote a blissful marriage.

7. Still on open communication, it is also imperative that you let your spouse know when they say or do something to hurts you. Your failure to do so will let the dilemma to persist and further aggravate problem in your marriage. If you suppress your emotions then your spouse will be oblivious of what they had done to upset you and are most likely to repeat the same things once again. You could also start to shun your spouse for the reason that you are annoyed and you do not want to initiate an argument. Your spouse may in turn interpret your strange behavior in a different way and be angry by your behavior. Just coming out and informing your spouse the reasons as to why you are displeased can greatly let you escape this preventable host of troubles.

8. Realizing that your partner and you are at all times in total agreement is also significant to a blissful marriage. Whereas you might concur on plenty of things it is impractical to believe that you and your spouse are going to be in sync all the time. It's fine to differ occasionally as much as you value each other's beliefs and feelings and don't think that any one difference will be the end of your marriage.

9. Impulsiveness is also an essential part of a blissful marriage. Letting yourselves to descend in to a routine pattern could lead to monotony but being a spur-of-the-moment at times will put off dullness from creeping in and help maintain the marriage in an interesting lane.

10. Lastly, keep in mind the reasons as to why you are married to your spouse; remember that it is one of the most significant secrets to a blissful marriage. Always appreciating the uniqueness in your partner that attracted you to your partner will always remind you to never forget your love for your spouse. It will also make sure that they are always lovely before your eyes. Many things could change all through your marriage, but the one stuff that will never change is the reason why you fell in love initially.

A blissful marriage is never assured no-matter the intensity of love that exists between the partners. There are plenty of unpredictables that can greatly impact your the happiness and accomplishment of your marriage. It is significant that both parties' appreciate that they must always work on every of the above features if they ever expect to have a happy and successful marriage to stay behind a contented and strong relationship.

Which Husband Did you Marry?

Most of us were brought up to believe there was a single entity called a Good Husband. Yet there are actually two very different kinds of good husbands: the Boyfriend and the Husband. The former is everything you've wanted since you were 15: sexy, spontaneous, irresistible. He makes you laugh, makes you shiver, makes you mad as hell. The thing is, he never quite pictured himself as a husband and father, and deep down he still doesn't. When you're trying to explain the concept of equal parenting or picking up his wet towels from the floor, you wonder: Did I make the biggest mistake of my life?

The Husband is your best buddy, a man you can count on to walk the baby at 3 am, research Consumer Reports for the safest car and even buy you tampons on the way home. Yes, sex is more tender than thrilling, but isn't that to be expected with time? Still, sometimes you wonder if marriage should have more pizzazz, mystery...

Well, yes. And Boyfriend husbands should stay home more often, too. But just as there is no one good marriage, there is no one good husband: Even the best have a B side. But how do you live with your doubts and still love and nourish the good marriage you've got? Read on...

He's such a bad boy!

From the outside looking in, we all envy the Boyfriend Marriage - and from the inside out, it does feel as good as it looks. Romantic. Spontaneous. Magical. Right. At its best, it feels the way you were always told marriage should feel. You will have a rollickingly connected kind of marriage, like a radio that never gets turned off. And that's wonderful when the magic is working. But, if the highs are higher in this marriage, the lows are also lower.

Passion - the glue of the Boyfriend Marriage - has a downside, and it resides in its very origin: The flame that fuels it is either unfamiliarity or uncertainty. And much as we love our husbands, they do not remain an endless series of brand new revelations. Which leaves us uncertainty, for the dynamics haven't changed much since your dating days. The same questions still rivet you, just beneath the surface of your everyday lives: How does he feel? How do you feel? Is he still attracted to you? Do you still love him?

But most of the time, you just love the way your heart jumps when you first catch sight of him, the way you feel walking into a room together, the rightness. Then something happens, and the balance tips - and you're back to does-he-or-doesn't-he?

He's comfy and cool

There's no question: Being married to a Husband is easier on the psyche than being married to a Boyfriend. Here, the sexual connection evolves out of a steadily growing regard, an intellectual rapport, a shared sense of humour and a profound romantic attachment. One doesn't so much fall in love as walk into it.

The downside of the Husband Marriage? The yearning to be swept away by a tidal wave of lust. And it can feel a lot worse when you're going through a period of doubts ... or when an actual person comes along who reminds you of the passion you once knew.

How to love the one you're with

No matter what the style, good marriages are based on chemistry, commitment and communication. And optimism: It helps to look at your marriage as half full rather than half empty. Loving your husband and yourself at the same time depends upon seeing him as clearly as possible, trying to forgive him for what you see that you wish you didn't, and trying to live with him in spite of it.

Given how different the Husband Marriage is from the Boyfriend Marriage, you'd think they'd require vastly different strategies for long-lasting happiness. Not so. Just don't compare him to your best friend's husband. Realise that a good marriage has intimacy and independence. It pays to cultivate a network of friendships and interests outside the marriage.

In the Husband Marriage, you need to find something that stirs you and allow your enthusiasm to invigorate your marriage. In the Boyfriend Marriage, you need that independence to nourish your self-esteem and to see you through rocky times.

Whichever kind of husband you married, if you want change, say the experts, take the initiative. Don't wait for him to read your mind. If you want more time for yourself, say so. If you want a hotter sex life, make the first move. And... Stay away from temptation.
